Westmeath County Council invites applications from residents associations of housing estates throughout the county for a nominal grant towards the cost of carrying out amenity works in their respective areas in the current year.

Westmeath County Council wish to declare its intention to acquire land at Retreat Park, Athlone measuring approxiametly 650 metres.
Currently designated as open space pursuant to planning ref. no 1016.
The prescribed notice under Section 45 sub-section 1(c) has been served. Any person having an interest in the land to which this acquisition notice relates may within 4 weeks appeal this notice to An Bord Pleanala.

The 'Children of Litter' campaign, based on the local legend of Lir will be led by the young people of our county. A Grand Pledge Day will take place across the County asking community leaders, elected representatives, businesses, schools, and members of public to pledge not to drop litter. The pledge Day is timed for Friday 23rd May.
